17 Police
17 Police
Part of a trilogy called "17-15-18 Appels d'urgence", this book published by Arléa is the result of 20 months spent in various police stations in several French departments.
The other two volumes, produced by Jean-Daniel Guillou and Théo, as part of the Synchro-X collective, describe the daily life of the fire brigade and the emergency services.
I tried to bring out the humanity of these men and women, who tend to be considered only in terms of their function; I therefore had to integrate myself into the teams, to make myself forgotten. This takes time, but it is the price to pay to avoid caricature.
This major reportage won the 2004 KODAK professional award, was distinguished at the 25th KODAK talent grant and was screened at the VISA POUR L'IMAGE festival in Perpignan in 2005.
